In between was a continuation from Tandav’s first work, Purgatorio 1.0, which took place in a local train between one performer and one audience member. The project seeks to offer the audience member a unique theatrical experience of contemplation on what is between them and a performance.
It is a profound world, which reaches into the places that language cannot express. Inside it is everything you want. It doesn’t exist, but it is real, and you take it away with you afterwards.
Chloe Lauverjon, audience member
I created this project proposal to capture and communicate Tandav’s vision, technical requirements as well as remarks from individuals that participated in Purgatorio 1.0 in Paris.
The proposal was successful and Tandav took the performance to the Dehli International Arts Festival in 2015.
For those moments, I was simply present. I couldn’t tell whether I was wholly empty or wholly full; perhaps I was both at once, in that state which plentitude and poverty meet in the possible.
